June is international Aphasia Awareness Month!

25 Ways Screenshot.jpg

This is an aphasia-friendly document outlining 25 different ideas for raising aphasia awareness. The ideas can be used by people with aphasia, loved ones, health professionals and/or researchers (the list is not exhaustive so if you think there are some great ideas missing, please share those as well!). As you all know, public awareness and public understanding of aphasia is extremely low, and we want to change this.

So please share this document widely! 😊

  • You can download it and email it directly to your clients and colleagues – the links are all clickable.
  • And/or you can print it out – there are QR codes on the first page that will take people to our website and Facebook page, where they can read more.

We will also be sharing more information in the coming weeks and months about resources and events to celebrate 25 years of the AAA, including our 25th anniversary AAA conference in North Sydney (8 & 9 November), and our Long Lunch for Aphasia which this year is taking place in multiple cities). Please consider becoming a member of the AAA so that you receive our email updates directly!

Thank you for your time, and your ongoing hard work and support for the Australian aphasia community. Happy Aphasia Awareness Month!
