Dear Speech Pathologists,
The Aphasia Therapy Words and Picture Cards are a box set of stimulus cards designed to support therapy targeting word retrieval, phrase and sentence production. The therapy cards were created from extensive research undertaken during the COMPARE research trial.
Watch a demonstration here –

- 480 coloured photographs featuring sets of nouns, verbs and adjectives.
- Items divided into three levels of difficulty: easy, moderate and hard, based on word frequency, syllable length and syllable complexity.
- Two picture cards for each item in a set, allowing the use of matching and card-game activities.
- Some pictures/words appear across multiple sets, 180 unique targets across nouns and verbs.
- 10 adjective cards covering emotions, size and colours to support phrase and sentence construction.
- A corresponding written-word card for every picture card, these are colour coded and arranged to match the picture cards.
- Cards are playing-card sized (89 mm × 63 mm), with a matt finish and rounded corners for easy handling.
The anticipated retail price will be $495+GST. Proceeds from the sale of cards goes back into further aphasia research.
