Sending on behalf of our colleagues in La Trobe University SP Team
Dear Australian Speech Pathologists,
You are invited to participate in a survey study about the perceptions of Australian speech pathologists regarding their educational preparedness, experience and confidence to work with trans and gender diverse individuals.
We would also like to ascertain the demand for professional development opportunities in this area of practice. This information will inform the development of educational materials to support speech pathologists who would like to work with trans and gender diverse people but who feel ill-prepared to do so. Your responses may also help us influence entry-level speech pathology education in this area of practice.
You might recognise this survey from an earlier version we distributed in 2019. We are re-issuing this very similar survey to help us gauge whether there has been any shift in speech pathologists’ perceptions since 2019. We can only gauge any shifts in perceptions on the basis of group responses because we can’t identify individuals from our anonymous surveys.
This email is being disseminated on our behalf by Speech Pathology Australia and other speech pathology associations and interest groups. We do not have access to the mailing lists of these groups. This project has approval from the La Trobe University Human Ethics Committee (Project ID HEC19060).
