We identified seven priority areas for aphasia service development using experience-based co-design. Insights into experiences and unmet needs of key stakeholders across the care continuum, service contexts, and geographic remoteness, highlight the importance of increasing safety for people with aphasia in hospitals and upskilling healthcare providers in supporting communication.

Lisa is a speech pathologist and conjoint research fellow with Metro North Health and The University of Queensland, Australia. Her research focuses on examining experiences, determining priorities, and co-designing meaningful solutions in post-stroke aphasia, with lived-experience experts and speech pathologists with the Queensland Aphasia Research Centre.
