Abstract Submission – CLOSING at Midnight Monday 24th July 2023 (AEST)
We invite clinicians and researchers to present research or clinical innovation projects to an audience of researchers and clinicians from various disciplines and work settings (e.g., speech pathology, psychology, hospitals, community, universities). Abstracts are invited for the Aphasiology Symposium of Australasia (ASA2023) on any area related to aphasia rehabilitation and recovery. Please complete this form to register an abstract submission. There will be a half day crossover session in conjunction with the Australian Aphasia Association on Wednesday 8th November where selected researchers will be additionally invited to present to an audience including people with aphasia – tickets to the crossover day are limited.
Types of abstracts:
The program committee invite authors to choose from a variety of abstract formats including:
1. Oral presentation (10min talk plus 5 min question time)
2. Poster presentation at dedicated poster session with discussion (NB: presenters must stand beside their poster).
3. Lightning talk (5mins)

Abstract Requirements
The abstract should include sufficient thorough concise information. It should not contain figures or tables.
The abstract limit is 300 words and the template includes the following sections:
- INTRODUCTION – Brief background and purpose/aims of the study, and a brief literature review.
- METHODS – Description of data collection and analyses performed.
- RESULTS – Key findings.
- DISCUSSION – implications, clinical relevance, take home messages, and conclusions.
- REFERENCES – not required.
- SUMMARY
- Single line spacing with one blank line before each new paragraph or subheading (to help us with formatting).
- Maximum 300 words
- No figures or tables
- Do not include university degrees, titles, street address, or postcodes.
