Match the Momentum: Unite for Aphasia Awareness

The Tavistock Trust for Aphasia have pledged $72,958 towards a global aphasia awareness campaign… if we can match their contribution, dollar for dollar. We need your help to match the momentum and make aphasia awareness a reality!

Aphasia affects millions – yet awareness remains heartbreakingly low. Aphasia robs people of their communication, but not their thoughts, feelings, or humanity.

This lack of awareness translates to a lack of support and empathy from the general public; fewer opportunities to return to work, education, and social activities; and insufficient funding for aphasia services. To change this, the global aphasia community – spanning 40 countries – has come together to co-design a unified public campaign. It’s the first of its kind: built by people living with aphasia, shaped by their stories, and driven by a shared vision for change.

Now, we need your help to turn this vision into reality.

With $72,958 AUD in matched funding, we can launch a powerful movement that raises awareness, restores dignity, and amplifies voices that deserve to be heard. Your support doesn’t just fund a campaign – it fuels connection, visibility, and lasting global impact. Together, we can break the silence.

Aphasia advocate Emma Beesley is the face of this campaign to raise these funds, Emma and many others are sharing stories about their aphasia lived experience on their facebook page https://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=61572140991752 .
