IALP MENTORING PROJECT – TAVISTOCK TRUST FOR APHASIA (TTA) – CALL FOR MENTORS

The Tavistock Trust for Aphasia is once again offering to support the International Association of Communication Sciences and Disorders (IALP) to develop strategies for engaging with and providing professional development to SLTs in resource-constrained contexts. This project is coordinated by the IALP Aphasia Committee. Mentees will be emerging SLTs (in their first 7 years of clinical practice) from low- and middle-resourced countries where speech-language therapy services for people with aphasia are limited or not yet established. The objective is to advance emerging SLTs’ knowledge and skills through one-on-one mentorship with a senior and experienced SLT.

We are looking for Mentors for the next round of the project which will run from May 2026 to April 2027. Previous mentors have reported positive professional development experiences following participation in the mentor program.

Mentors must be:

·       Senior or experienced SLTs (around 10 years), with experience in Aphasia.

·       Current Individual Members of IALP or willing to join as Individual Members

·       Available over the 12-month period

·       Flexible across different communication modalities and platforms (e.g. Zoom, email, WhatsApp, etc)

If you meet the requirements and would like to be a Mentor, please send an email with a brief CV (2 pages)  attached to IALP’s CEO Ms. Vanessa Ebejer at ialp_ceo@ialpglobal.org by 15 May 2026.

If you do not have experience in Aphasia but your colleagues do, we would be grateful if you shared this message.

Thank you.
