ASA 2025 is less than 5 weeks away and we are looking forward to hearing from a wide range of speakers on aphasia research and clinical practice.

Dr Claire Bennington is known for her work on promoting aphasia awareness in our communities and we are looking forward to hearing Claire’s presentation – “Collaboration is vital for the successful implementation of an international aphasia awareness campaign”
Dr Kathleen Mellahn has recently submitted and had her PhD thesis accepted. Kathleens research into the experiences of people from culturally and linguisitcally diverse backgrounds is helping to improve the experiences of people around the world. We are excited to hear from Kathleen who will present “The inpatient clinical pathway for people with aphasia from CALD backgrounds: Differences from admission to discharge.”
Dr Megan Trebilcock‘s research work in evaluating the experiences and benefits of Aphaisa Camps is extremely valuable to the aphasia community and sustainability of aphasia camps services driven by community volunteers. We are looking forward to hearing Megan present on “Empowering the aphasia community to drive the development of aphasia camps in Australia.”

ASA Collaboration & Connections Social is being held from 6pm on Thursday 27th November following on from day 1 of the Symposium.
This event will be held at ‘Little Henri’ in Thornbury – an easy tram ride from La Trobe University. The perfect opportunity to network with other Symposium attendees and discuss the days presentations and collaboration opportunities.
Join us for platters of delicious canapes, a loaded grazing table and range of cocktails, beer, wine and non-alcoholic drinks are also included.
