Aphasia affects millions – yet awareness remains heartbreakingly low. This lack of awareness translates to a lack of support and empathy from the general public; fewer opportunities to return to work, education, and social activities; and insufficient funding for aphasia services.
To change this, the global aphasia community – spanning 40 countries – has come together to co-design a unified public campaign. It’s the first of its kind: built by people living with aphasia, shaped by their stories, and driven by a shared vision for change. Excitingly this has been led by researchers in Australia.
The Tavistock Trust for Aphasia have offered us AU$72,958 in funding IF we can match it with an additional AU$72,958.
This is a generous pledge. It is a powerful opportunity to bring our vision to life! This will allow us to develop digital campaign materials in multiple languages and make them freely available.
To Match the Momentum, we have set up a JustGiving page, to help raise the additional funds. – Donate here – www.justgiving.com/campaign/qarc-uq-aphasia-awareness
Please share the link with your networks and on your social media. We need the global aphasia community and beyond to get behind this!
Thank you for your support with this campaign – together we can make it happen!
