CALL FOR EXPRESSIONS OF INTEREST
Casual Research Assistant Opportunity – Melbourne

The Aphasia CRE is inviting expressions of interest from speech pathologists based in or near Melbourne interested in supporting a research project at La Trobe University as a casual research assistant. The project focuses on better understanding the needs of people with mild aphasia, including sub-clinical presentations. We’re particularly keen to hear from those with prior research experience, which would be highly valuable.

This role involves participant recruitment, conducting assessments and interviews, and facilitating focus groups with people with lived experience of aphasia. Training and ongoing support will be provided. The expected time commitment is 1–2 days per week for 2025, with flexibility. Much of the work can be completed remotely, though occasional travel within Melbourne will be required.

This position may suit speech pathologists who are working part-time, on extended leave, or re-entering the profession.
