From our friends at the Stroke Foundation –

Major changes in stroke have occurred over the last decade with many major new trials adding to our knowledge. These changes have been rapidly integrated within the Living Stroke Guidelines. However, Australia performs poorly for several aspects of care including time-based metrics for reperfusion which has led to current focus of the National Targets initiative from the stroke community (National Stroke Targets 30/60/90 – Australian Stroke Coalition).
To better understand the impact of new research and the living guidelines, and to provide important information for efforts to meet the National Targets, further evaluation is needed. As such, the Australian Living Evidence Collaboration (ALEC) and the Stroke Foundation are conducting an updated evaluation to explore Australian clinicians and policy makers’ awareness and responses to the living guidelines and where applicable, their response to the new/updated recommendations for reperfusion therapy in particular.
We are inviting Australian health care practitioners and others involved in the delivery of stroke care to complete a brief survey. The survey explores awareness and uptake of the guidelines and new/updated recommendations, triggers for changing clinical practice, recommendation/guideline implementation steps, barriers, facilitators, and opportunities for improvement. It should only take 10-15 minutes to complete. Participation is voluntary, anonymous and very much appreciated. Please see attached explanatory statement.
The survey will close on Friday the 7th of March @ 5pm.
You can access the survey HERE.
Please let us know if you have any questions or need any further details about the survey.
Kind regards,
Dr Tanya Millard (ALEC) and Kelvin Hill (the Stroke Foundation) (tanya.millard@monash.edu); khill@strokefoundation.org.au)
