Day 1 – Celebrating the Achievements of the Aphasia CRE 2019-2024
This day is NOT a communicatively accessible / aphasia friendly day however everyone is welcome to attend.
This is a great day for health professionals and researchers to hear about the activities of the NHMRC funded Aphasia CRE. Aphasia researchers from across Australia have been collaborating together, (and with international colleagues), for the last 5 years and we want you to hear about the developments in aphasia research, and the latest in technological support available to improve the lives of people with aphasia. There will be plenty of time for discussion and questions. Refreshments will also be provided.
Speakers will include leaders from the 5 programs of research –
- Neurobiological and psychosocial predictors of recovery
- Treatment effectiveness across the continuum of care
- Technology for healthcare communication and aphasia rehabilitation
- Optimising mental health and wellbeing in aphasia
- Aphasia Inclusion Hub – Inclusion of people with aphasia in research
and hear about specific areas of research including –
- Supporting the psychological wellbeing of people with aphasia
- How to best support children and families of people with aphasia
- Community Aphasia Groups and facilitation
- Supporting people with aphasia from culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds
- The latest aphasia therapy developments
- Innovations in tech support and tele health for people with aphasia.
